Nomination for Bob Morton's State Senate Position
On Saturday, May 22nd, PCOs from the 7th Legislative District nominated Barbara Mowrey of Chewelah as our candidate for the State Senate seat. Barbara is a former Chewelah City Council member. Her concern is that not enough attention is being paid to the social needs of children, seniors, single parents and other disadvantaged community members by Sen. Morton. She was asked a number of questions about other issues. She is for healthy food and wants support for farmers to be able to grow it. Barbara is also interested in the local economic possibilities of biofuel production.

“To clarify any confusion on the matter, by action of the Executive Board, the Washington State Democratic Party has endorsed I-1098. The WSDCC has consistently supported an income tax in Washington through Resolution and Platform language.”

Stan Rumbaugh for Justice
Stan Rumbaugh is running against Jim Johnson for Justice on the State Supreme Court. Through a plethora of emails a true case of injustice in the form of Jim Johnson rulings is made, case after case. To learn more about this Judge whose decisions seem to reflect the aims of whoever has the largest pocket rather than based on any sort of judicial rightness, go to this website: Click Here

By Associated Press - Feb. 17, 2010

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A survey of every county in the nation ranks them on how healthy residents are and how long they live.

In Washington, the County Health Rankings lists San Juan, Douglas, Whitman, Kittitas, Island, King, Whatcom, Clark, Chelan and Snohomish counties as the 10 healthiest.

The 10 counties with the poorest health are Ferry, Okanogan, Mason, Stevens, Asotin, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Yakima, Pend Oreille and Pacific.

The report was released Wednesday by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. It considered health behavior, clinical care, social and economic factors, and physical environment.
